In 1978, Jamey Goodkind’s Mother and Adoptive Father moved their family to Southaven, where he attended Greenbrook Elementary and graduated from Southaven High School in 1990. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior around age 10 and was Baptized at Southaven First Baptist Church. He met his Wife Brandy in 1997, and were married 2 years later in 1999. They have stayed by each other’s side through thick and thin ever since. He and Brandy live in Southaven with their two teenage children, Zachary and Karagan.

At the age of 16, Jamey found out about his adoption and went on to meet and befriend his Biological Father, Terry. Terry became a dear friend to Jamey, he was a Clinical Hypnotherapist, carpenter, violin maker, painter, etc., and was the first to introduce Jamey to the philosophical principles of Liberty and Individualism. Over the course of their friendship, Terry became a New York Times Best Selling author with over 25 million copies of his first series sold worldwide, ABC/Disney also produced a TV series based on his books. He passed away in 2020.

As a Christian and a Liberty-Minded Conservative, Jamey believes in the Original Intent of the Constitution, and that it was written to preserve the Rugged American Individualism that made this country great. He understands that our future generations are Mississippi’s most important resource, so we must take steps to restore and reform education. We must also ensure our children share in our Founders’ vision for the country. We absolutely do not need to focus on whatever the latest fad is in education or social media, be that BLM, CRT, modern sex theory, etc… Mississippi should emphasize classical education and encourage critical thought instead of a socialized groupthink.

Mississippi should be a leader in the country. We must set a tone that elevates Mississippi to a leadership role nationally. A role and track that has been proven in other states. One that will attract businesses and people seeking opportunities to develop and create. Mississippi must be stalwart, to the principles that founded this country, against a federal government bureaucracy that is growing without checks or balances. Mississippi must have strong and principled conservative leadership.
